The labia minora (the lips of the vagina) in some women can sometimes become discomforting causing itches and irritation as the affected person twists and tug the labia which may happen during sexual intercourse, riding a bicycle or in other cases.

What is the procedure?
Vaginoplasty sometimes called “vaginal rejuvenation” is a surgical procedure to tighten the female pelvic floor tissues around the vagina. The purpose is to give a woman better control of the muscles for greater satisfaction for both partners during sexual intercourse and to be able to fully control her urge to pass urine and or stool.

Who needs it?
Any female with ‘loose’ vagina who wants it tightened for better control of her feminine asset and restored her self-confidence.

Who performs the procedure?
The procedure will be performed by our in-house aesthetic gynecologist, Dr. Meshack Mbokota.

How is the procedure performed?
The surgery performed either pulling the pelvic floor muscles closer together or removing excess skin and scar tissue. The outcome is a firmer, restructured vagina that provides better sexual contact and pleasure.

Patients on vaginoplasty are usually placed under anesthesia during the procedure; the aesthetic gynecologist does this to ensure their maximum comfort.

What are the results of the procedure?
A post vaginoplasty procedure leaves patients feeling great as she is free of the complications. She may experience mild pains, but this should disappear after a few days.

How long does it take to complete
A full vaginoplasty surgery takes about two hours maximum.

Is the procedure painful?
Not at all, that is the purpose of the anesthesia.

What care do I need after the procedure?
Recovery from vaginoplasty is comparatively easy, but it requires some planning and organization to allow the body to heal properly.

Vaginoplasty presents similar risks as other common surgeries such as infection, bleeding, severe scarring, and blood clots. However, these risks are typically rare as long as the patient is in good health before the procedure.

When can I contact the doctor after the procedure?
You should be fine without complications after the surgery. However, contact the doctor if you notice any of the associated risks like bleeding, feeling feverish, cold and high temperature.
